Kenneth Cox
About the Artist

A native New Mexican born in Santa Fe of Irish Spanish descent, Ken has lived nearly his entire life in New Mexico and has been strongly influenced by southwestern art.  Although landscapes are his first love and gave him a deep appreciation of the natural beauty of the state, he is adept with different types of art such as impressionism, mannerism, realism and abstract.  Without any formal training whatsoever Ken has mastered a variety of media and often employs mixed media in his creations.  Ken's technological background has contributed to his artistic technique which is a unique and diverse blend, ranging from detailed painting using air brush, ink and watercolors to using a single pallet knife with oils and acrylics.  With over forty years of experience and hundreds of painting s to his credit, Ken has won several awards including a painting called "Reflections", which won national recognition.  Ken is also responsible for several murals at Southern New Mexico Correction Facility in Las Cruces.  Ken's clients include people such as Carlos Santana (guitarist and song writer) Gaston Green (former pro football player) and Clara Apodaca (former first lady and wife of then Governor Jerry Apodaca). 
Ken plans to become more involved with New Mexico art community and hopes to contribute to the already renowned treasure of artists creations.
